Clock Three, with edge-lit lightguide displays. The motiviation for re-building the clock was that I found that over time, "segments" toward the outer edges of the clock started to fail. Upon closer inspection, I found a tolerance stackup problem with the acrylic and leaded LEDs which led to broken connections. This version has been built with surface mount LEDs and floating acrylic plates to get around the problem. I also am using a microcontroller (ATmega168) to drive the clock, which allows me to easily display the day, date, and time with six displays.
